The boss of the World Health Organisation will be re-endorsed for a second term after going unchallenged for re-election.
The body announced Dr. Tedros was the sole candidate put forward by member countries. He’s been the Director-General of the WHO since 2017.
Last year, Dr. Tedros came under heavy criticism for acting too slowly to declare the COVID-19 pandemic. He will be re-appointed in May for another five-year term.
