UK records 28,000 COVID cases and 103 deaths

The United Kingdom has recorded more than 28,000 COVID cases – bringing its total since the start of the pandemic to over six million.

Another 103 people have also died – taking total deaths to more than 130,000. It increased from the same time last week when the data suggested the pandemic could be shrinking.

Professor Neil Ferguson – who helped shape Britain’s coronavirus response – has warned case numbers could rise again.
