Prime Minister Scott Morrison has touched down in New York ahead of the first in-person Quad leaders’ summit. He will meet with US President Joe Biden and the leaders of Japan and India. “I’m very pleased to be here in the United States, and first of all, to be here in New York,” Mr. Morrison said.
“The first responsibility of any prime minister, any leader of any country, is their national security, and always put their national interest first in securing what’s best for their own people.
“We have great friends and partners and allies all around the world, and over this week, I’ll have the opportunity to pursue those goals, shared goals, based on shared values.
Mr. Morrison called the Quad meeting a “significant initiative”. the address within the Indo-Pacific.” He said some of the topics which will be addressed include the changing economy, vaccines and climate change.
