George Floyd’s girlfriend reveals the pair suffered from an opioid addiction

George Floyd’s girlfriend has given emotional testimony at the murder trial of Derek Chauvin and revealed the pair suffered from an opioid addiction during their relationship.

Courteney Ross told the court they tried to overcome the addiction together but said George Floyd had gone back onto drugs a couple of weeks before his death.

The Floyd family lawyer Ben Crump released a statement responding to the testimony of Ms. Ross, as well as the defense’s attempts to “construct the narrative that George Floyd’s cause of death was Fentanyl in his system”.

Mr. Trump said he wanted to remind the world George Floyd was “walking, talking, laughing and breathing just fine,” before Derek Chauvin held his knee to Floyd’s neck.
