Police in Bristol have been attacked, and vehicles set alight during violent protests in the British city resulting in two officers being hospitalized.
Thousands gathered in Bristol to protest against the government’s proposed laws to expand police powers to quell demonstrations.
The protests quickly turned violent as night fell as demonstrators set vehicles on fire and vandalized police buildings. A police commander in Bristol described the scenes as “absolutely disgraceful”.
