Stranded Australians trapped in India say they feel “abandoned” after the federal government pauses flights between the two countries.
The nation has officially surpassed 200,000 coronavirus deaths and recently reported 360,000 new cases – the world’s largest single-day tally.
With no guarantee they can come any time soon, authorities urge them to wear personal protective equipment to stay safe.
Flights between India and Australia will remain paused until May 15, with repatriation flights to the Northern Territory a possibility beyond this point.
